And by that I mean sometimes an offer comes along just too good to not accept. A few weeks ago I was asked to participate in a BlogHer review program for the AT&T FamilyMap plan. Now before I proceed I should mention that I don’t get many invitations to join in reindeer games, I tend to mostly not be a team player and so the opportunity to engage in such an activity was more than enticing. Add to that the chance to test out a program created to track my teen child whenever his phone is turned on and, wahoooooo!, I am all on that! It turned out to be a pretty cool experience because for a few hours here and there I secretly watched Loren’s phone tramp about the roads of our valley.
After that I told him what I was up to and he was all, “Dude. That is so uncool. I’m just turning my phone off. Then what are you gonna do?”
So I was all, “Well, if you’re phone is off what will you do? How are you going to text and chat with your friends?”
And then he was like, “Oh, yeah. Right on. Well, um, can you just stop this soon?”
So it created a dialogue and in the parenting books it’s good stuff to have that going on with your teen child. I’ll take that and a visual map of where my son’s cell phone is, thank you very much.
P.S. The uber cool thing about going to the above link and actually leaving a comment is that you then get a chance to enter a drawing for a $100 Visa Gift card. Cool beans, I say.
