Some things don’t change

The great thing about a blog is that I can go back through my drivel and gauge whether or not I am making any progress or simply stuck in the same self-pitying rut month after month. It appears that a year ago I was indeed in the same sort of position I am now, if not perhaps a bit ahead. Back then I had just the one trying teen, now I have the ‘tween who is pushing my buttons something fierce. The difference, other than the extra load of her hormonal whims, is that she has more stamina than he ever has and she’s far more clever than anything I have ever encountered. I love her and admire her, but damn if I don’t rejoice her bedtime just because then for a couple of hours before I give in to sleep I have some peace.

About Caloden

My name is Heather Craven and Caloden is where I park much of my personal baggage. I started the site, with more than a little help, in the fall of 2005. Up until that point I knew little of bloggers and mostly used my computer to play in Photoshop or harvest the random song. But once I started I was hooked. I like to think that by vomiting out all of my personal crap on the Internet that I am a far healthier person than I was nearly 5 years ago.
