Today I give up. I lost. I am done. I admit defeat. A double boy visit at the doctor resulted in a strep throat diagnosis for Devon and a sinus infection for Loren. Our local pharmacy is was knee deep in incompetence this afternoon which resulted in a nearly two hour wait for the many prescriptions we needed for the boys. Of course I had Devon with me, hacking and pitifully crying for his medicine. The pharmacists asked me why I didn’t request his antibiotics in a form they carried in stock. I wanted to ask them why the fuck they took so long putting pills in bottles because, hello, what is so damn hard about that? But I didn’t. I kept my mouth shut and snuggled Devon on my lap. Of course I imagined horrible thoughts on the pharmacists as I sat there stewing and understanding why sometimes customers simply lose it and go all postal on idiots.

Damn, I have that same thought about the difficulty of putting pills into bottles, and I’ve never waited more than 45 minutes. Two hours? I’d have been having that kid coughing throughout the place until they begged me to take the medicine and his contagious butt out of there.
