Oh right, time for some changes and all that

I wrote a post for my day gig that involved some resolutions for the next 365 days. Not included in the list are the obvious lose 25 pounds, keep my roots free of gray, be better to my mother sort for things. Also not included are a few hopes I just couldn’t share with the folks at AOL. In the past 18 months I have taken on a life of celibacy. It hasn’t been a conscious choice but rather one of necessity. Living with one’s mother and becoming a spinster are not conducive to an active sex life and so I have given up sex. Considering I previously enjoyed and existence of frequent encounters since the age of 18 this new course has been a jolt for my system. So I wonder if 2008 might be willing to throw a bone (no pun intended) my way and grant me some sex. After all, with 365 days, or 8,760 hours, there should be ample time. On the generous side that would mean just two hours, but if the fates are into scrimping I would settle for 15 minutes. I wonder of there is but a hope in there somewhere. And if it’s not too demanding, perhaps there could be a pirate costume in there somewhere.
I figure if two of the 8,000+ hours were spent on my back I could spend a majority of the rest doing noble things like spending more time with Cass. Already I have scheduled a pedicure/manicure session for us on January 2. I have a gift certificate to a local spa that will offset the expense and we can get some bonding in while we’re at it. It’s no secret that Cass and I are a bit like oil and water and I am really hoping to spend part of 2008 breathing deeply and trying to smooth the velcro edges that often separate us. That doesn’t mean I won’t spend any time with the boy spawns, but I need to make an effort to reach out to the She Child.
I will also strive to be a better guest in my mom’s house. No more trails of clothing and toys in my wake, I will make the Manor a better place. Add to that list a store at CafePress and Etsy and I will be well occupied for the next near future. True, well occupied and 120 minutes with a pirate are not the same thing, but here’s hoping…… On that note: Happy New Year!
