Today involved:
1. Hot yoga class for me. I really wanted to stay in bed and read smut but I have read all my smutty vampire and werewolf books that friends sent me for my birthday. So I hauled my ass to class and sweat my soul out for 90 minutes.
2. A slight return of some of my sanity followed the class.
3. A frenzied clean because Cass is having an overnight tonight with a new girl. It turns out I actually grew up with her mom, she was in the class ahead of me. My recollection is that she hails from a very normal family (thank God my brother is out of town for this one) and I wanted the house to at least like we are normal, too. So all the laundry I have been stashing under pillows and in drawers got washed.
4. A soccer game and a trip to the cool rock climbing park.
5. My mother met me at the park and we actually had a friendly, somewhat animated conversation. Of course it was made that much easier by the fact that Matt is out of town and my mother wasn’t stomping around while he stomped in the distance, making my blood pressure escalate.
6. Devon, Cass and her normal friend and I then went to the pool for lots of good fun. Devon promptly stripped naked in the locker room and hid in any empty locker he could find.
7. An evening meltdown with Devon since he insisted on ingesting as much pool water as possible and Woody had gone missing. After four bedtime attempts, an all out launch to find Woody and that many trips to the bathroom to pooh out the pool water lurking in his distended tummy, he is now sleeping.
8. The 21st viewing of High School Musical 2, the gayest movie. Ever. Seriously, ever.
There were no naps today, though I yearned for one as I trudged through this bizarre reality that invades my life everyday. Since nobody has brought me a margarita with lots of salt, I am calling it quits, my pillow awaits and I couldn’t be happier.

In a clockwise order: Cass on the field. Not such a great season so far. Her coaches lack in coaching ability and because they are more interested in their own daughters shining than actually helping out the team as a whole. I might transfer Cass to a different league next spring. Pretty leaves, more leaves. Devon after hurling himself into a very nicely groomed flower bed at the pool.
