There is a God and she lurves me something fierce

There are many things I am or am not and for the most part I am okay with a lot of them. One of the things I am not is a great or even average typist. I suck at it. I failed typing in high school because I skipped the class and so now I usually type while looking at the keys rather than the screen. This rather bites since part of my income comes from me being able to peck out coherent words on my keyboard most everyday. I was content to live out my days as a mediocre typist until recently….
A few days ago I was pecking away and happened to look up at the screen when I noticed that most of my words had dotted red lines under them. Upon a closer inspection I realized those words were all misspelled. I haven’t the foggiest idea why the computer started doing that for me. I inherited a brand new, sassy laptop after my father passed away. He had bought it a few weeks before he died, and there were never any red lines when I got it. I still don’t know any of his passwords and end up wildly out of whack with the updates. My brother does know the passwords and keeps telling me, but I forget and have to ask him to do the updates. He says he didn’t install the red lines. Loren also claims innocence in this area. So I can only assume one thing: the Gods have smiled upon me and my fumbling fingers. They have given me the red lines. And all I can say is hot damn!

Google does it in gmail and Blogger does it in posts and now in the comments.
It’s great. Much faster than going back and running spellcheck.
Now all I need is a grammar check. Google doesn’t care what the word is or whether the sentence makes sense as long as it’s a real word.

It is a nifty byproduct of the Google Tool bar. Right clicking (on a mac without right click capabilities ctrl-click) will give you options for correct spelling.
Not as cool as my phone, bu still sorta cool.

Yeah. Ummhmmm. Although I have no iPhone, I still like to fancy the gods smiling upon my keyboard and me. But you are ever so clever. I like johnkellyperkins.com. Very cute.

Have you just started running Firefox? Firefox does it automatically, you don’t even need to ask it to spellcheck for you. Firefox kicks Explorer ass!

I have to agree with Kimberly – Firefox kicks ASS! That’s what I use on my Mac.
Re: Why it started doing that automatically – it may be that your browser was set up to automatically install any new updates.
