Usually if Devon skips a nap on one day he is more than happy to snuggle in and sleep the next afternoon. Today when I tucked him into his crib I was absolutely sure he would nap. So when I still heard him whispering and singing an hour later I knew the gig was up, there would be no nap today. Oh well, it was time to get Loren and Cass from school and get them to soccer so I went in to get him out of his crib. Devon was in his crib all right, in all his natural glory. There in the corner, snuggled up to his softy duck pillow was Devon. Hugging and tugging on his natural self and as pleased as he could possibly could be. He gave me no warning whatsoever during storytime or lunchtime that he intended to spend his hour in bed stripping and then giving himself a healthy dose of slef-love. No. In fact, if anything he appeared to be enormously pleased with himself. He had no remorse for skipping his nap two days in a row in favor of his naked self. Again he spent the rest of the day naked as the day he was born and happy as a clam about it. He peed off the deck with Loren. He rolled on the leather couch. He sat in his high chair and dined in his natural state. And all was good. If only we could all take a lesson from Devon.
*Note to self, check out the couch for smoodges of any sort.

You’re right, we could all take a lesson from Devon. Kids don’t have all our baggage yet, they still like themselves, just as they are.
Funny Funny stuff…Go boy!
My boy is FIVE and he’ll still strip down. Anywhere, anytime. It’s great. FOR HIM.
