Earlier this morning I had started a woe-is-me-my-life-is-sooooooo-busy post when I got bored with how pitiful I am and checked my email for any sort of an entertaining diversion. Among the many offers for penis enlargement opportunities was an announcememnt regarding my work at home job about my monthly paycheck deposit. For about the last six months this has not brought me much happiness because my paycheck was being deposited into Matt’s account. I tried over the summer to have it put into a different account, but the mammoth company for which I string together words was unable to communicate to the various people lurking on the corporate ladder just what paper needed to be faxed where to change the bank account information. As a result I would anxiously await the monthly email and check the bank account. But it was always to my fury that Matt received the money. You might think it would be a simple enough matter to ask him to write me a check or give me the cash. But invariably he was out of checks or unable to get to the ATM. This meant I had to wait a few days, keep calling… Some months I got most of my money. Other months, like January, I got nothing. Nada. Sure, he would say something like, “Oh, yeah, um, I’ll get you your money next time you stop by….” Oh. Right. And I also believe in happily ever after.
But today, oh sweet today, it changed. That’s right, baby! No more extra money for a certain Mr. Somebody. No-Fuckin’-Sir! It’s all mine! That bad boy check went into the proper account. All my emails with the help desk paid off and my Baby Daddy will no longer get a little something extra just for being his own bad self.
It goes without saying that this lack of pay has left me little motivated to troll the internet looking for interesting tidbits to share with the readers at BB. And although I have that grueling, almost fulltime job with which to contend until the snow melts, the fact that I will actually receive my paycheck just might motivate me to move off of my grande ass and post away.
One small step for single moms everywhere, a giant step for my self-motivation!

Excellent! Congratulaions!
What a freakin’ relief!
Yay Cheques!!!!
My mammoth corporation was having similar payment issues–well, not that they decided to gift someone else with my hard earned cash; they just had trouble making payments at all. Still, left me less than motivated to put my best foot forward, so to speak. And lead to a run on blogthings quizzes for a while.
On another note: WHAT????? What a weasel. I cannot believe he actually kept YOUR money. grrrrr.
Congrats, Heather! Financial independence is HUGE. I wonder if Matt was expecting it…
