My unconditional love for the offspring

Poor Devon. Someday he will be sitting in his college dorm chatting with friends and when asked to recall his childhood, he will say something like the following. “Well, it is a good thing I was so cute. My mother would often remark upon the fact that were I an ugly child, she would feel far more inclined to stuff me in a box and leave me by the side of the road.”
And it’s true. Sometimes, especially on days like today, his unbelievable cuteness is all that saves him from being left behind in a random grocery cart with the hope that a stranger will take him home to a different life. Holy Chirst, I don’t even like kids. The older two? I can understand their origins. But to start all over and do it again when the oldest one was already eleven????? Somedays are just a brutal battle of wills.
The only reason Devon has a ticket to stay for another day? That damn cute thing and the fact that he goes to bed at 7 p.m. Otherwise? He would be gone. Gone. Gone. Gone.

    I love the new look!
I’ve had that same feeling for each of my kids. Usually it’s Ben. If he weren’t so damn funny (intentional and not), he might be homeless right now.
Thankfully, he is funny. And cute. And forgiving.

That was funny. I’m sure all parents feel this way.
